Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a handful of things that can save you some headaches and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Lodi and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you need AC repair. Going through this short checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it running at peak efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to set up your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 209-257-3156.
